A Day at the Races

To celebrate Uncle Vern graduating from Law School, we went to the race track to celebrate!  The race track is really the BEST family activity.  There is something for everyone.  The kids LOVED having so much space to run around with their cousins and watching the horses. The dads loved betting on the horses and watching the Blackhawks win. The moms loved the eating and drinking!  Win.  Win.  Win.  And the best part was thanks to Julie, Kate, and Joe...we left with our family pot at $130.00....to be used on our next Ocean City vacation in 2015!!!

One of my favorite family pictures ever!

I love how the first picture is edited and looks so perfect..and then this unedited picture shows the chaos that is a Muskovich family outing!

Sorry Leigh, I got my camera out for the first time after you had already gone home!  :)

Dance Fever

It's dance week at the Wennerstrom home.  In 1 week, we have 2 dance classes, 1 ticket purchase, 2 picture days, 1 dress rehearsal, and 1 dance recital!  However, I actually like that they just knock it all out in one week!

This year Abigail is in Musical Theater and is performing to "King of New York" from Newsies.  Caitlin is in the beginning dance class and is performing to "Fly Me to the Moon."  Both the girls had a great year in dance and made a lot of good friends.  There is one family that had 1 daughter in Abigail's class, 1 in Caitlin's class, and 1 who is a year younger than Libby...so I think we will be hanging out with them a lot in our future!  Luckily the dads can talk hockey together while we talk dance!

Friday is the big show. The girls are so excited!!!!!  Grandma, Grandpa, and Papa are going to come watch their performance, which is even more exciting to them!!!!

Here are pictures from picture day!  Presenting my tiny dancers:

Libby got to stay home and watch the Blackhawks with Daddy during all the dance madness!! Go Hawks!!!

And THIS is how I spent my Friday night!  The hour and a half I waited in line to get our recital tickets! This line bends around the corner at the end to the second half.....it was INSANE!!!  Luckily, some friends' kids had karate at the same time so I had people to chat with while waiting in line!  Ah, the life of a dance mom!

Great American and a Farm Too

Rob was in Arizona for 6 days with his dad visiting his Grandpa and family out there.  He had a WONDERFUL time and came home with lots of stories.  He was so happy he got to spend time with his family!

While he was gone, I had A LOT of time alone with the girls. We were very busy.  About an hour after Rob's flight took off, Libby got the stomach flu.  It was a long night with poor Libs, but by the next morning she was feeling better.  Nevertheless, I stayed home with her and we had a day of cuddling. One night Nana made us dinner and helped me out with kids and my busy schedule.

On Saturday, we went with Nana, Auntie Tina, and Auntie Stina to a local farm that had sheep sheering.  It was a fun girls bonding morning!  Here are a few pictures of the girls with the newly born baby cows.

On Sunday, the Hackneys offered us tickets to Great America.  They were for Jay's work, but they were not able to go.  My parents, Joe, Lucy, and Leigh joined us.  It was such a great day!  It was the girls' first time at Great America.  We had season passes growing up so I have been there so many times...it was really fun to take my kids for their first time!  The morning started off a little cold, but after lunch it warmed up and we were able to enjoy a great day together!

1st ride of the day

Caitlin was my ride buddy!!!

Libs did a lot of watching the girls on rides...but was a great sport!

Uncle Joe is fun!!!

How cute is Leigh on the Scooby Doo ride?????

Caitlin was more on mommy's page...not loving this ride!!!

Since Mommy wasn't there, Lucy got cotton candy!!!  :)

Caitlin LOVED the play area in the back of the park.

Abigail and Grandpa on the roller coaster!

Libby was having too much fun!!!!

Grandma couldn't work the airplane button!  :)

Abigail about to get on the Wizzar!  Her first "big girl" roller coaster.  She would have gone on them all if she was big enough!!!  No fear!

Libs enjoying the sun and all the quality bonding time!

Thanks to Nana, Grandma, and Grandpa for all your help with the kids!!!  It definitely takes a village!  What great memories the kids made this weekend!!!!
