Hot, Hot, Hot!

We decided to stay cool today by taking advantage of local water establishments. We began with swim lessons...only 2 days left! Abigail has really enjoyed her swim lessons and seems very comfortable in the water. She even kicks her feet when she's floating-we may be attending swim meets in about 12 years!

After swim lessons, Abigail went to her 1st waterpark. We had a great playdate with Auntie Nay Nay, Aunt Cari, Mae, Nathan, Alex, and Jake. Alex and Jake call "Baby Abbi" their sister..so I guess it was a family reunion! After some time in the water, we had a picnic and then the kids fed the fish and ducks. Abigail has fed fish before at Uncle Al and Aunt Georgeanne's pond, but this was her 1st experience with ducks...and as with everything else, she loves them!

Our neighbors (and friends) Jenny and Ryan are bloggers...and have convinced us to try it! We think it will be a nice way to keep family and friends up-to-date with all the things happening in our house-and a great way to document all the changes in Abigail. She is growing so fast-I hope this helps us document all the great things that happen! We plan to save these for her so she'll be able to see all the things she did.

So, Abigial got her 1st tooth this weekend. We were up in Indiana at Bass Lake Days. She is quite a trooper...just a little fussy but nothing compared to what we expected. There's not much to see yet but we'll be sure to add pics as soon as possible.

She has also begun to eat "big people" food. She has been exposed to peas, bananas, and green beans. Peas took a few days to grow on her, but now she's our little piggie with her peas! Mommy is trying to make her own food...we'll see how long this lasts!

Bass Lake Days

This weekend was Bass Lake Days in Indiana. It was Abigail's 2nd Bass Lake Days...but last time she was busy growing and making mommy sick! The weekend began with the 5K run. Papa, Nana, and Beth participated...and Daddy and Abigail cheered us on! Papa beat the 1st walker! :) Mommy didn't do very good-but she has become in charge of the 2009 race. We are going to need lots of volunteers, so get ready to join us and help us out. Nana walked it but was robbed of her trophy! We spent the rest of the day enjoying the festivities (Great Nani painted a beautiful fish in the fish contest) and ended the day with dinner, a bonfire, and fireworks at Uncle Al and Aunt Georgeanne's house. Oh, we did not attend the Goat Drop this year...Next year we'll have to get back to it! Sunday was the famous Bass Lake parade. There were no port-a-potties in this year's parade, but Abigail really enjoyed all the noises and sights..especially the horses. Abigail had a great 1st year at Bass Lake Days...with many more to come in her future!
