Halloween

We interrupt the wedding posts for one about Halloween. This year we were very original and went with the Frozen theme.  Us and every single family in America!  I wanted to do something original, but the girls really wanted to be Anna and Elsa...and I could only imagine going to school where all your friends are Elsa, and your mom made you be a vampire (although it would have been cute).  So we got on board and were Frozen.  And frozen we were...because it was COLD!!!!!

We didn't do as many Halloween things as we normally do.  The girls wore their costumes to school and we went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood after school.  We also took the girls to a pumpkin patch!

I have some great pictures on my camera that I will download at home and post...but for now, here are Anna, Elsa, and Olaf!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Mr. & Mrs. Brokke

I don't think I'll ever stop talking about what a beautiful, perfect wedding Kate and Vern had!  They put so much thought into little details that really made the day!!!

We started off at a perfect salon!  Then we headed to get ready!  Seeing Kate in her dress was definitely a highlight of my day.  She was stunning!!!  Insert tears...

I also got to see Verno a lot!  It was fun!!! How to tie a Bowtie?  Where are the sandwiches?  Beer?

Kate got her wish...she got to walk to her church (vans didn't show up, but Kate really wanted to walk so she was happy. I'm sure mom was happy too! ;) )

Kate and Vern's ceremony was beautiful! Full of love, laughter...and tears again!  That is all me and Verno!  We are a hot mess match made in heaven!!!  For me, I'll never forget the plastic rose Kate gave to Mary or Jules and I holding hands during the Our Father!!  And mom wanting people to liven up during communion!  I'm laughing so hard as I type it!!!

After the ceremony, we got our beer (thank goodness) and headed for amazing pictures!  They are stunning!!!!   While we were taking pictures, Rob saw a pod of dolphins!  Charleston is amazing!!!

After our bus ride we were at the plantation.  It was so beautiful!  The entire reception was perfect...but there was was 1 moment that will forever be my favorite part if any reception ever!!!  My dad spoke in his speech (which he rocked) about singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow to Kate.  He then was surprising Kate with their daddy daughter dance being Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  Well, about 5 minutes before their dance, the most perfect rainbow filled the sky.  Who gets to dance with their dad to Somewhere Over the Rain while under a rainbow on their wedding???  Insert tears...again!  I'm absolutely sure that was our grandparents doing!

More to come... But here are some pictures from the great day!

Congratulations to Vern and Kate Brokke!!!  We love you!  Let's party!!!!

Our Soccer Star

Caitlin started soccer last week!!!  She has been waiting A LONG time to play...and she did not disappoint!  She did a great job!!!

There was one funny moment...at one point she was sitting by the goal crying.  Her coach thought she got hurt so called me over.  Turns out she was sittings pouting because the other kids kept taking the ball away from her.  It makes me laugh every time I think about it because she's a tough kid...but yet so sensitive!

We are looking forward to a fun season with the Red Hot Chili Peppers...which happened to be one of my 1st soccer team names too!

Charleston SC for the big wedding!!!

My little sister has been married over a month...and I haven't blogged about it!  Sister fail!!!!

We had the most wonderful weekend in Charleston celebrating the big weekend!!  It's such a fun place...I think our family would move there in a second!

If the plane ride was any indication of the weekend that was to proceed, we knew it was going to be a fun weekend!  We were surrounded by my mom's friends! It was a blast!

We made it to Charleston and hit the streets...and bars!  We ate and drank.  A LOT!  We also helped Kate tie up odds and ends (deliver hotel bags, order flowers, buy food, finish gifts, etc).  Thursday night we did a lot of visiting and drinking!

Friday we were busy busy busy!  Rob and Joe started their man-cation with golf, fried food, cigars, and beers!  Jules and I were pretty much absent from them for the 1st 3 days, but they had a fun time bonding!  As if they needed a reason to hang out!

The girls had mani/pedis and a luncheon to celebrate Kate!  The highlight was meeting Vern's sweet family!  Next, Jules and I began our new career as florists!  We rocked out all the bridal bouquets!  Next up was the rehearsal.  It was so wonderful to have so many people celebrating Kate and Vern!  They deserved all of it!  We had a wonderful BBQ rehearsal...and more drinks!!!! Then it was off to bed for the big day!!!!  Stay tuned!

Our sweet rental.  I loved this car!!!

Spending time with my sisters is always so much fun!!!!  I am so lucky to have them in my life!!!  We had the best time together shopping, eating, drinking....and drinking!!!!  I also have hilarious texts after the weekend that I'll try to post because they are the highlights of the funny things...our own personal quote book!!!  Man did we laugh a lot!!!

Happy Birthday Lulu!

Happy 4th birthday to our sweet, spunky God-daughter Lucy!!!!  She had a very memorable Bday this year....a very fancy party in candlelight due to lack of electricity!  It didn't stop the girls from having a great party, with the highlight bring Elsa joining the party!!!!  Libby loved the dancing!

Happy happy birthday, Lulu!!!!  We love you to pieces!  You are growing up so fast....you need to slow down a little!!  We love you do much and hope you had a great Bday!!!

Personal Parade

We were supposed to go to the Septemberfest parade...but it was raining.  So the girls decided to put on their own parade for Rob and me, complete with candy thrown at us!  Libby is being her typical silly self!
