Our Soccer Star

Caitlin started soccer last week!!!  She has been waiting A LONG time to play...and she did not disappoint!  She did a great job!!!

There was one funny moment...at one point she was sitting by the goal crying.  Her coach thought she got hurt so called me over.  Turns out she was sittings pouting because the other kids kept taking the ball away from her.  It makes me laugh every time I think about it because she's a tough kid...but yet so sensitive!

We are looking forward to a fun season with the Red Hot Chili Peppers...which happened to be one of my 1st soccer team names too!

Charleston SC for the big wedding!!!

My little sister has been married over a month...and I haven't blogged about it!  Sister fail!!!!

We had the most wonderful weekend in Charleston celebrating the big weekend!!  It's such a fun place...I think our family would move there in a second!

If the plane ride was any indication of the weekend that was to proceed, we knew it was going to be a fun weekend!  We were surrounded by my mom's friends! It was a blast!

We made it to Charleston and hit the streets...and bars!  We ate and drank.  A LOT!  We also helped Kate tie up odds and ends (deliver hotel bags, order flowers, buy food, finish gifts, etc).  Thursday night we did a lot of visiting and drinking!

Friday we were busy busy busy!  Rob and Joe started their man-cation with golf, fried food, cigars, and beers!  Jules and I were pretty much absent from them for the 1st 3 days, but they had a fun time bonding!  As if they needed a reason to hang out!

The girls had mani/pedis and a luncheon to celebrate Kate!  The highlight was meeting Vern's sweet family!  Next, Jules and I began our new career as florists!  We rocked out all the bridal bouquets!  Next up was the rehearsal.  It was so wonderful to have so many people celebrating Kate and Vern!  They deserved all of it!  We had a wonderful BBQ rehearsal...and more drinks!!!! Then it was off to bed for the big day!!!!  Stay tuned!

Our sweet rental.  I loved this car!!!

Spending time with my sisters is always so much fun!!!!  I am so lucky to have them in my life!!!  We had the best time together shopping, eating, drinking....and drinking!!!!  I also have hilarious texts after the weekend that I'll try to post because they are the highlights of the funny things...our own personal quote book!!!  Man did we laugh a lot!!!

Happy Birthday Lulu!

Happy 4th birthday to our sweet, spunky God-daughter Lucy!!!!  She had a very memorable Bday this year....a very fancy party in candlelight due to lack of electricity!  It didn't stop the girls from having a great party, with the highlight bring Elsa joining the party!!!!  Libby loved the dancing!

Happy happy birthday, Lulu!!!!  We love you to pieces!  You are growing up so fast....you need to slow down a little!!  We love you do much and hope you had a great Bday!!!

Personal Parade

We were supposed to go to the Septemberfest parade...but it was raining.  So the girls decided to put on their own parade for Rob and me, complete with candy thrown at us!  Libby is being her typical silly self!

The End of Summer

Our last weekend before school started, we took the kids to the Indiana Dunes!  It's been on my summer bucket list and I'm so glad we made it!  The girls could have spent a week there!  They loved it!  Then we headed to the cabin, where the Hackneys came for the 1st time!!!  We thought it might be a lil crazy with 7 kids between our 2 families, but the kids were great!  It was a perfect way to end the summer!

Friends for over 20 years!!!

Such a great family!  The most polite kids!!

Rob and his Godson

Auntie Beth even stole a "selfie" with Luke!  Love this kid!!!

1st Day of School

We are back into the swing of things with school this year. We sure miss our lazy summer! But it's also nice to be back into our routine. Everyone is really happy this year, so that makes life a lot easier!!!

Abigail

Abigail started 1st grade and LOVES her teacher!  I was worried that after her amazing kindergarten teacher, she wouldn't be as excited about 1st grade, but I was wrong.  I find little love notes to her teacher around our house.  It's cute because her teacher is really young, and she loves cheetah print!  So we went shopping this weekend and Abigail only wanted cheetah print clothes.

This week is her 1st spelling test and her 1st daily, timed, math facts test.  Things got real in 1st grade really quick!

This year, due to a change in numbers, Abigail has a bigger class.  The 2 kindergarten classes were combined to make 1 larger 1st grade with 28 kids.  While the parents weren't happy about the large class size (I'm totally fine with it because her teacher is amazing)....Abigail is so excited about it because all her friends are in the same class.  She was really excited to not be split up from any of her friends.

Caitlin

Caitlin started 4-year-old preschool.  She goes 5 full days this year, which is a big transition from 3 days last year...and with her mom!  We really went back and forth on this, and decided to try it out, knowing she could go to Miss Bella's 2 days a week if it was too much.  I'm happy to report that so far, so good.

She also likes her teacher.  She has all her friends from last year, plus a few new ones in her class.  It's nice on those Tuesday Thursday days because her class numbers are smaller (20 on MWF, 12 on T TH) so she gets a little extra one-on-one time.

This year Caitlin starts the reading program that begins in preschool and goes through 2nd grade...so that's exciting for Caitlin!  She has known all her letters and sounds so this year I'm hoping that she begins some basic reading.  She's also really good with math facts so I'm hoping she begins some basic math.

Her transition from mommy's classroom to a new classroom has been very smooth.  She doesn't seem too upset to not be in my class....Abigail had a much harder time last year than Caitlin this year!  She still sees me at recess and other times...and I always get a big Caitlin hug which makes my day.  Caitlin LOVES school....I don't think we can ask for much more in preschool!  And she's napping all most every day and staying on "green" for good behavior!

Libby

Libby is back at Miss Izabella's house this year.  Last year she had Caitlin there, which I liked because I liked that she had her sister with her.  This year, she's on her own.  But she has her 2 buddies from last year, Noah and Cole, who she loves and talks about all the time!

When we get to Bella's house she jumps out of the car (after I unbuckle her car seat of course) and runs into the door yelling "Hewo Behwa" and runs right to the cabinet to find her Thomas the Train bowl which she has oatmeal in every morning.  She always waves and hugs and blows me kisses...but never cries when I leave.  When I pick her up, she sometimes cries when I get there...like she wants to stay.  But it doesn't bother me at all....because I want her to be so happy and love Bella's so much that she doesn't want to leave!

Libby is doing good with potty training.  She's not 100% out of diapers yet, but she's mostly out of diapers other than naps and sleep...and when we are being lazy on the go.  She still has accidents, but since she still has 3 months until she turns 2, I'm in no rush!

This year we are calling Bella's house "school"...so she is working a little big on colors, letters, and numbers.  And LOTS of Polish!  It's really cute to hear her say things in Polish.  Libby really just makes everyone happy!  :)
