We were supposed to go to the Septemberfest parade...but it was raining. So the girls decided to put on their own parade for Rob and me, complete with candy thrown at us! Libby is being her typical silly self!

The End of Summer
Our last weekend before school started, we took the kids to the Indiana Dunes! It's been on my summer bucket list and I'm so glad we made it! The girls could have spent a week there! They loved it! Then we headed to the cabin, where the Hackneys came for the 1st time!!! We thought it might be a lil crazy with 7 kids between our 2 families, but the kids were great! It was a perfect way to end the summer!

1st Day of School
We are back into the swing of things with school this year. We sure miss our lazy summer! But it's also nice to be back into our routine. Everyone is really happy this year, so that makes life a lot easier!!!
Abigail
Caitlin
Abigail
Abigail started 1st grade and LOVES her teacher! I was worried that after her amazing kindergarten teacher, she wouldn't be as excited about 1st grade, but I was wrong. I find little love notes to her teacher around our house. It's cute because her teacher is really young, and she loves cheetah print! So we went shopping this weekend and Abigail only wanted cheetah print clothes.
This week is her 1st spelling test and her 1st daily, timed, math facts test. Things got real in 1st grade really quick!
This year, due to a change in numbers, Abigail has a bigger class. The 2 kindergarten classes were combined to make 1 larger 1st grade with 28 kids. While the parents weren't happy about the large class size (I'm totally fine with it because her teacher is amazing)....Abigail is so excited about it because all her friends are in the same class. She was really excited to not be split up from any of her friends.
Caitlin
Caitlin started 4-year-old preschool. She goes 5 full days this year, which is a big transition from 3 days last year...and with her mom! We really went back and forth on this, and decided to try it out, knowing she could go to Miss Bella's 2 days a week if it was too much. I'm happy to report that so far, so good.
She also likes her teacher. She has all her friends from last year, plus a few new ones in her class. It's nice on those Tuesday Thursday days because her class numbers are smaller (20 on MWF, 12 on T TH) so she gets a little extra one-on-one time.
This year Caitlin starts the reading program that begins in preschool and goes through 2nd grade...so that's exciting for Caitlin! She has known all her letters and sounds so this year I'm hoping that she begins some basic reading. She's also really good with math facts so I'm hoping she begins some basic math.
Her transition from mommy's classroom to a new classroom has been very smooth. She doesn't seem too upset to not be in my class....Abigail had a much harder time last year than Caitlin this year! She still sees me at recess and other times...and I always get a big Caitlin hug which makes my day. Caitlin LOVES school....I don't think we can ask for much more in preschool! And she's napping all most every day and staying on "green" for good behavior!
Libby
Libby is back at Miss Izabella's house this year. Last year she had Caitlin there, which I liked because I liked that she had her sister with her. This year, she's on her own. But she has her 2 buddies from last year, Noah and Cole, who she loves and talks about all the time!
When we get to Bella's house she jumps out of the car (after I unbuckle her car seat of course) and runs into the door yelling "Hewo Behwa" and runs right to the cabinet to find her Thomas the Train bowl which she has oatmeal in every morning. She always waves and hugs and blows me kisses...but never cries when I leave. When I pick her up, she sometimes cries when I get there...like she wants to stay. But it doesn't bother me at all....because I want her to be so happy and love Bella's so much that she doesn't want to leave!
Libby is doing good with potty training. She's not 100% out of diapers yet, but she's mostly out of diapers other than naps and sleep...and when we are being lazy on the go. She still has accidents, but since she still has 3 months until she turns 2, I'm in no rush!
This year we are calling Bella's house "school"...so she is working a little big on colors, letters, and numbers. And LOTS of Polish! It's really cute to hear her say things in Polish. Libby really just makes everyone happy! :)
