Farewell, Kindergarten. 1st Grade...Here Abigail Comes!!!

It's hard to believe that I offically have a 1st grader!!!  Abigail had a WONDERFUL kindergarten experience....better than I ever could have dreamed of.  She learned A LOT (she's actually reading chapter books this summer which is really fun). But more importantly, she had a GREAT experience!  She had a teacher who loved her.  She gained self-confidence and social skills.  She made true friendships.  And she loves going to school.  It was a wonderful year!!!!!  Here are some pictures of her last day of school and her kindergarten graduation!

(I also wanted to add what a super dad Rob was.  I had to work this day because it was my kids last day of school too!  Because of my AMAZING job, I was able to come down for graduation and not miss a thing, but Rob had to bring the girls.  He took the day off, got them dressed, did their hair, including his 1st time using a curling iron), pack snacks for Libby who wasn't supposed to come but had a 101 fever so had to join us, and even took them out for lunch after.  Even though I have a little working-mom guilt missing things, but it's awesome for the girls to have a hands-on dad!  He's a rock star!)

Mrs. K...We could never thank her enough for what she did for Abigail this year!  She's a dream come true for a teacher!!!

I love my little "photo bomber" in the background!

Watch out 1st grade....Abigail's on her way!!!!!

A Day at the Races

To celebrate Uncle Vern graduating from Law School, we went to the race track to celebrate!  The race track is really the BEST family activity.  There is something for everyone.  The kids LOVED having so much space to run around with their cousins and watching the horses. The dads loved betting on the horses and watching the Blackhawks win. The moms loved the eating and drinking!  Win.  Win.  Win.  And the best part was thanks to Julie, Kate, and Joe...we left with our family pot at $130.00....to be used on our next Ocean City vacation in 2015!!!

One of my favorite family pictures ever!

I love how the first picture is edited and looks so perfect..and then this unedited picture shows the chaos that is a Muskovich family outing!

Sorry Leigh, I got my camera out for the first time after you had already gone home!  :)

Dance Fever

It's dance week at the Wennerstrom home.  In 1 week, we have 2 dance classes, 1 ticket purchase, 2 picture days, 1 dress rehearsal, and 1 dance recital!  However, I actually like that they just knock it all out in one week!

This year Abigail is in Musical Theater and is performing to "King of New York" from Newsies.  Caitlin is in the beginning dance class and is performing to "Fly Me to the Moon."  Both the girls had a great year in dance and made a lot of good friends.  There is one family that had 1 daughter in Abigail's class, 1 in Caitlin's class, and 1 who is a year younger than Libby...so I think we will be hanging out with them a lot in our future!  Luckily the dads can talk hockey together while we talk dance!

Friday is the big show. The girls are so excited!!!!!  Grandma, Grandpa, and Papa are going to come watch their performance, which is even more exciting to them!!!!

Here are pictures from picture day!  Presenting my tiny dancers:

Libby got to stay home and watch the Blackhawks with Daddy during all the dance madness!! Go Hawks!!!

And THIS is how I spent my Friday night!  The hour and a half I waited in line to get our recital tickets! This line bends around the corner at the end to the second half.....it was INSANE!!!  Luckily, some friends' kids had karate at the same time so I had people to chat with while waiting in line!  Ah, the life of a dance mom!
