Kidstown

This week we took a break from the heat and met the ADORABLE Addison and Gavin (and Jodie, a good friend from high school) at Kidstown.  The older girls played really well together...and the younger babies are gonna be great playmates as they grow!

"Abby" and Abbi (Addison calls herself Abby)

Caitlin and Gavin (6 months apart)

Jumparoos are FUN!

I think they are ready to Kareokee!

Caitlin had to get in on the fun...and smile as big as she could!

It's amazing how the classic cars are always a favorite!

Looking forward to our next playdate with Jodie, Addison, and Gavin!

Celebrating our New Niece/Cousin!

Today was Baby Blandford's baby shower!  It was a great afternoon of family, friends, food, and presents!  I think Baby Blandford made out pretty good!  :)  Thanks to all the family and friends who were there to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of our new niece/cousin!  We have a little bit over a month until she's here!!!!  Julie and Joe have done such a great job getting ready for her arrival and are going to be such great parents!!!!!

Sisters
(I love this cause look at my sister Julie from the front...you can't even tell she's pregnant...and then when she turns.....all baby!!!!)

My new niece will be here in a little over a month....I'm so excited!!!!!!!  I can't wait to be an aunt and watch the girls grow up together!!!!  My sister is looking as cute as ever!!!!!!!

Abigail and Aunt Julie

Abigail and Aunt Katie

Abigail thought she was "too cool for school" because she got to sit up next to Aunt Julie and help open presents!

Thanks to Mrs. Blandford (Joe's mom) and my mom for the great afternoon!!!!!

On the homefront, we had a low-key weekend....we need to get organized and get errands done.  Here's what's new with the kids:
Caitlin Bug is beginning to drink from a sippy cup!  Such a big girl!  Look at those blue eyes.  They change from blue to green, but they are definitely not brown.

Abigail discovered a LOVE for corn-on-the-cob. The night I took this picture, she had 2 whole ears of corn!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We missed Bass Lake Days this year for the first time in years....but we can't wait to hear all the great stories!!!

42 days until the arrival of Baby Blandford!!!!!

P.S.  I spell "niece" wrong a lot...probably because I am used to spelling "Neici"...or because this is the first time I'm an aunt...either way, just ignore my spelling error!  :)

Wennerstrom Family Vacation 2010 (con't)

Days 5-10 are in no order below...because it was just 5 wonderful days of swimming and boating!  On the drive home, Rob and I played our game "What was your favorite part?" and we both agreed our favorite part was the day we took the girls on the boat to the sandbar (it's a great area in the middle of the lake that is really shallow...lots of boats park there and everyone swims).  However, the whole week was really relaxing and full of what every good vacation should be:  family time!

Our family

The BEST naps happen on the boat!

One day we took a road trip to check out South Bend.  We figured by walking on Notre Dame this young, it might be like osmosis and the girls will go there one day!  Abigail is with Touchdown Jesus.

Being Silly

Mohawk Ballerina

After an afternoon of swimming at Uncle Al and Aunt Jam's beach and a great dinner, the girls decided to hang out with Papa and Uncle Al.

Mommy and Abigail hanging on the boat while Daddy and Abigail did this:
LOTS of jumping off the pier...even learned how to jump without anyone catching her.

And my favorite picture of the week:
FUN!

I can't believe I didn't even get any pictures of Nana and Papa....but again, thank you so much for letting us take over for a week!

It was a great vacation.  Abigail definitely is a much better swimmer...Caitlin is talking more...we spent a lot of quality time together...we left with good color....and we laughed A LOT!!!!

Now...where to for 2011?????

Wennerstrom Family Vacation 2010

We just got back from 10 of the most relaxing days!  This year, we decided to spend a week at Bass Lake Indiana...and it was so much fun!  The biggest decision of our day was "What bathing suit should I wear?".  We really had such a great time on our vacation!!!!!

Day 1

The traditional "1st picture of the vacation" picture!!!!  Abigail and Caitlin started their vacation by heading up to the lake with Nana and Papa while mommy and daddy....

enjoyed a night out with the O'Connors at the OAR Concert!!!!!

Day 2-3 were spent swimming, playing, and hanging out at Bass Lake...but I didn't take out my camera!!!!!  I don't know what I was thinking.  Daddy went on a two day golf trip with his friends while Mommy and the girls stayed with Nana and Papa.  On Sunday, Nana and Papa left and it was 2 days of "just the girls"...full of Princess Tiana movie night and some good ole shopping!!!!!

Day 4

While waiting to pick up daddy, we went to the local park...and while we were there we found some "history" in Knox Indiana!!!!!

And what kind of vacation would be complete without a good ole 4-H Fair!!!!!  If I had a dime for every time I've said that, I'd have a dime!!!!!

The 4-H fair was full of rides

smiles (she probably just ate the funnel cake)

horses (both alive and not-so-much)

and picture opps while

we waited for the kids to

get covered in Crisco and catch the pigs at the Pig Scamble!!!!

No, our kids did not participate...but maybe one year!!!!!  A girl can dream!

Day 5

Day 5 started out rainy so we headed over to Culver for some shopping (sort of) and lunch.  Then, the weather cleared and it was back to Bass Lake for what else....swimming and playing!!!!!

So, that's the first half of our vacation!!!!!  The second half will be coming tomorrow...stay tuned for more pictures of swimming!!!!!

And a BIG thank you again for Nana and Papa for letting us make the cabin our home for 10 days!!!

Freeze Frame

"Freeze Frame....Freeze Frame" (Is the song in your head yet????)

Random Candid pics of Caitlin and me together.  She crawled up on me and I started snapping!  I look like a dork, but she cracks me up...she's hilarious and so cute!

My baby!

Bits and Pieces

Caught Red Handed:  Abigail served "dinner" while I ran to the restroom

Kramer is a good sport when it comes to Abigail

The Real Housewives of Roselle:  Apparently that's where Abigail goes to ballet.  I have never seen such a spectacle when it comes to moms dressed up at 9am (I'm talking heels) and tutus and bows bigger than the kids.  We have 4 weeks left and then we are OUT OF THERE!  Abigail loves ballet, but I think the park district ballet is more our style!  But Abigail did great in the class and loves it...so that's what counts!

So sad...last day of swim lessons.  Abigail absolutely LOVES her swim teacher...she had her when she was 6 months old and again at 2 1/2.  Abigail did really great and is ready for real swim lessons next summer...and we hope we can have Dana again.  Best swim teacher...EVER!!!  Abigail loved the noodle so much we now own one (but no pool) and did great with the kickboard.  But her favorite is jumping in.  She would stand at the wall and say "Mom, go over there" and point to the other side of the pool.  She tried to jump in when I was not looking...one day I'm gonna let her actually go in and see what she really thinks of it, but for now, I'm just happy she loves the water.  Next summer, it will be Caitlin's turn to begin mommy and me swim lessons (Abigail only did it that early because of physical therapy) and Abigail will be in the real lessons...very exciting for both girls!
