a LOVEly weekend

Valentine's Day/My Birthday was a GREAT weekend!!!! Rob really went out of his way to make it a special weekend for his girls! We are very lucky!

My sister has changed careers and is in the floral industry now. She made me a beautiful bouqet of flowers for my birthday!!!! She's looking to begin doing weddings...so if you know someone getting married, I have a recommendation for you!

Last week we went out to lunch with Rob's mom, aunts, and grandparents...it was a great weekday treat!!!! Abigail loved visiting Nana's office!

At lunch, Abigail got her birthday gift from Auntie Gam and Uncle Al! Rob taught her to open gifts very neatly...so here she is passing her paper on to Great Nani! Oh Vey!

Thanks Auntie Gam for my present!!!!

I'm working on getting on it myself so my mommy can push me around! We do this A LOT during our day!

Thank you for all of Abigail's Valentine's Day gifts. She received books, movies, shoes, hair things, clothes, puzzles, and more! She's very lucky..and loves all her presents! Thank you!

On Saturday night, we went out for dinner in Chicago for my birthday. It was a great night out!
Bill's SUV (Sorry Bill, Rob made me post it!)

Thank you honey for my special birthday/Valentine's Day! You did so many thoughtful things for me...and I really appreciate all of it! I love you!

We also had a great birthday dinner at Gale Street Inn with my family on Sunday...and as always I forgot to take pictures. But we have a very, very special birthday coming up in March..My grandma is turning 95! So I'll take lots and lots of pictures of that special birthday!!!!!!

What do you get when you put together...

What do you get when you put together a carousel, a fire station, the flu, a wagon, and a big red bird???

Abigail's week in review!!!

Last week we met some of friends from our mom's group at Charlestown Mall and Abigial took her 1st carousel ride. She liked it more than mommy (it made mommy sick)!

On Saturday, we attended Alex Hackney's 4th birthday party at the fire station. Abigail liked it..Daddy LOVED it!!!!!

This picture says it all...the fireman is explaining to the KIDS how the fire truck works...check out the BIGGEST kid!!! (I should point out that Abigail isn't there with Daddy..she was with me in the back)

Then Saturday afternoon, the flu hit the Wennerstrom family. Mommy got it first, and then a few hours later Abigail joined Mommy. Poor Daddy was taking care of two sick girls...my sister got it too so we figured out the source was my grandma's place! It was Abigail's 1st time getting sick so of course it was documented too!

Abigail on Sunday morning after being up all night.

Abigail got LOTS of cuddles...but Mommy and Daddy were very tired from being up all night.

Abigail on Monday morning...I couldn't believe how funny her hair was...poor baby!

On Tuesday the weather was so beautiful and we were both feeling better so we decided to get out for a little while. We visited Cosley Zoo where Abigail waved to every animal, it was so cute. Then we headed home for her 1st wagon ride!!!! Abigail was lucky enough to get 2 wagons for Xmas, but her red wagon has straps to hold her in so we used that one first!!! She was very, very serious at first...

She looks so old to me!

"Okay Mommy, it's fun!"

For dinner on Tuesday night we headed to Red Robin since we missed our family night dinner there on Saturday night. Red, the Red Robin mascot, was there and I thought Abigail would cry, but it was the opposite. She loved the bird and kept wanting to touch him. She loved him so much..the bird must have come by 10 times..and where ever in the restaurant the bird was, Abigail was waving at him. It was so cute...and luckily Mommy had the camera!!!!

So I think if I can get the ladies at Abigail's Kids Korner to dress up as a big red bird, she might stop crying and let me get a work out in! :) Daddy, I think Abigial wants to go to Six Flags this summer!!!!!!! She loves the big animals!!!!!

Piggie Tails

This age is so much fun because everyday is something new. Today Abigail wore pig tails for the 1st of many, many, many times! Enjoy!

P.S. Rob said I should have cleaned her face before taking the pictures..but her face isn't dirty...it's just rosey cheeks from teething! :)

Walk It Out Now!!!!

Here it is...Miss Abigail Grace Wennerstrom walking!!!! As I said, we got her new shoes and knew she'd be walking in no time. Yesterday she was taking 2 to 3 steps, so I decided to get out the video camera. I told Rob she's going to be walking any day now and I wanted to get the video before she walked...so we started taping and she just kept walking! We never got the pre-walking video, but we have a great, fun walker! She'll take a bunch of steps, but she's still learning what to do at the end. If there is a person nearby, she'll dive-bomb on them. Now that she has discovered walking, she doesn't want to sit. Today she held my hand and walked through Target (we were at Target for a LONG time with her little steps). She just has to learn how to get her balance on her own...I still have to "set her up" to start walking! Okay, so here it is:

(My voice is obnoxiously high and annoying..I hope I don't talk like that all day..for real, I sound like a Golden Girl...please turn off your volume! I wouldn't post this if I didnt' spend 2 hours getting it downloaded!)

On a side note...I think my parents might recognize Abigail's sweatshirt! It was my sweatshirt when I was a kid. My mom put some clothes of mine aside for me for when I had kids and this Crayola sweatshirt is awesome...it looks like something you'd buy today!!! So thanks Mom for saving it..and thanks Dad for not throwing it away!!!! It was all worth the 30 years in storage! Maybe Abigail's daughter will wear it one day...her kid will probably have to ask "What are crayons?" with how technology is changing! :)

Oh, and speaking of walking...you may have noticed my March for Babies addition on the side of my page. We are walking this year in honor of Abigail, Luca, Cally, Ava B., and all our favorite preemies! This year we are also walking in honor of the drs and nurses at CDH NICU who save babies everyday and gave us ours! We'd love to have you join us! It doesn't cost anything to join..all you have to do is come out and walk with us! While I am trying to raise money, I'm more just trying to raise both awareness and support!!!! So if you are free, come walk with our family! The more the merrier!!! I need to update those pages so check back often to see about new updates for the walk!

Guess Who Has Her Own Pony.....

...tail that is! I always wondered when baby girls make the transition from barette to pony tail holders...and we did this weekend! She looks so cute with her little ponytail! We're digging the side pony too!

She also got her 1st walking shoes! They are ugly (well, more just boring)!!!!! Rob and I went to 4 stores looking for cute ones, but realized this is what she's getting unless we want to pay $52+ bucks...so she got the plain basic white baby shoe! I guess it's sort of like a rites of passage..every baby should have a pair of plain white walking shoes just as every teenager should have a really crappy car! However, we did find her next running shoe...and we can't wait for her to grow into it! She is so close to walking in her new digs...any day now!

I would also like to share exciting and shocking news!!!! The Man Room has expanded! It is now a man room/playroom/exercise room! And it's so wonderful!!! As I type, the three of them (Rob, Abigail, and Kramer) are happy as can be down there...it really makes our house feel a lot bigger (and quieter)! Good sharing!!!!
Happy Superbowl/Commercial Watching!
