Celebration!

This weekend was my sister Julie and her fiance Joe's 1st shower. It was a great celebration! Mrs. Blandford even invited Abigail, which was so nice! She was happy to be there and celebrate with her godparents. Here are a few pics!

The happy couple about to open the presents.

Abigail having fun with her godfather. The best part was when Jules gave Abigail to Joe, his quote was "Now what?" Abigail showed him how to play.

This weekend Daddy also babysat Abigail on Saturday while I went out with the girls. He took Abigail on her 2nd Daddy/Daughter date. What a nice tradition..I wish I had some pictures!

And now...a very sad day in the Wennerstrom home. Our little petite Abigail has outgrown Mommy's favorite pajamas. They are the cutest things ever on her..and last night I struggled to fit her into them one last time. They are the pj's from the Disney store and they are so LONG and skinny that they fit her perfectly! Don't worry, I have more in her new sizes, but these were cute cause I bought them with cats in honor of the O'Connors. (For those without kids, this just probably seems silly...but all the moms know how attached you get to certain pieces of clothing). So here are the last pics with Abigail in my favorite pj's.

Happy 8 Month Birthday, Abigail Grace!

Abigail is 8 months old today! We had a great day together. We went to Grandma's classroom to help her get ready for her 1st day of school next week. I wish I would have taken pictures of Abigail in her classroom. She could not stop looking around at all the colors. I think she's ready for school (but I'm not). Then, when daddy got home from work, we met grandma and grandpa for dinner at Flip Flops, the local establishment. At dinner, Grandpa Joe (which is weird to say because my dad and grandpa had the same name so I had a Grandpa Joe too) gave us some home videos from me growing up, so rob and i watched them when we got home. We had so much fun watching them!!!! So Abigail's 8 month birthday was great! And as always, here are some new pics!

Abigail in her bouncey seat around 2 months.

Abigail in her bouncey seat at 8 months. Looks like it's time for the chair to go into the attic!

Crab-igail was having a rough day, so it was time to break out this shirt from Grandma and Grandpa.

Abigail was reading her book from Aunt Katie...I think the name is GREAT for her!

Mommy's playpen!

Her 1st time sitting up in the bath! Very fun!

Happy 8 Months, Abigail Grace! We love you very much!

Pictures from this week...

Here are a few pictures from this week.

Yummy...Carrots! My new favorite food. But mommy thought I looked like a clown so she didn't like it.

Nana and Papa took me to the John Deere store when they babysat me! My mommy was very jealous..but I got LOTS of presents! Thank you nana and papa!

The Hackneys had us over this week for a BBQ! It was a great day. Thank you Hackneys.
Here are Jake and Abigail playing (Alex was asleep). Thank you Auntie Nay Nay and Uncle Jay for letting us borrow your ExerSaucer...Abigail LOVES it! I love this picture of Jake using it one more time!

I love my new exersaucer...thank you!!!!

Mommy dressed me like a Rock Start today-it's the shoes from Grandma that make the outfit! (I leaned her against our ottoman-she's not standing..yet! But she is rolling all over the house!)

Too cute!!!!

And last but not least, we're still struggling with peas-look at this mess! I know how much Aunt Julie and Aunt Katie love watching her make a mess...I have a video that isn't working, but I'll try again later!

Beers, Legends, and a Squirrel named Chadwick

Rob on Honky Tonk Highway!

I know I can make it big as a country singer!

The Glurestrom Vacationers with Smiley in the middle (Read #2)

The title alone makes you want to read, right? Well, the Glurestrom's weekend in Nashville was great. We had so much fun! In Letterman Style, here is my top 10 reasons why this was a great trip.

10. Maureen and I got yelled at for laughing on the plane on the ride down! The guy was so rude to us...but we knew from the start it was going to be a funny trip.

9. We visited the Charlie Daniel Band museum...very cool!

8. You can get anything you want in Nashville with a confederate flag..Mo had a bikini she was eyeing!

7. The food wasn't great..but the beer was flowing! $2 PBR-who can beat it? And at the stinky trailer park bar (which mo and i hated cause it smelled) they had a wall of mullets!!!! :) And we saw more than 1 person buy their beer with change!

B at the Trailer Park Bar. That's right, he's drinking on the car!"Get er done!"

6. The Kareokee (sp?) is out of this world!!!!

5. We met lots of fun people, including Macombie-Homies and many people who had a comment about Mo's Nascar Shirt that said Boring!

4.Now not only does Rob have a belt buckle, but cowboy boots too..and I have a belt buckle too!!!

3. The music in Nashville is really amazing! B's favorite songs? "Free Credit Report" medley. Mine was "Vanilla Ice transitioned to Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy!"

2. We hung out with Smiley Roberts! Who is he? He's a 70 year old steele guitar player who we thought was "crazy" until we went into Tootsies with him and his picture was up on the wall with all the greats and older people were asking for his autograph. We spend the day with him...I had a mission to find famous people and this def. qualifies. Just google him...you'll see! Here's a quote I found on the web :Hendersonville and Gallatin are two communities that in recent years have been home to such stars as Jonny Cash, Roy Orbison, Trisha Yearwood, The Oak Ridge Boys, Jenny Slate and numerous session and touring musicians such as the local legend "Smiley" Roberts. We had so much fun with him!

1. There were 5 members on our trip...rob picked up a $1 squirrel at a store and we named him Chadwick Michael Phelps. He helped us make lots of friends...and he invented a drinking game for us. Everytime we saw Michael Phelps, read his name, or heard his name, we had to drink. If you watched tv this weekend you'll know how much we drank! To end this blog, here is my "Ode to Chadwick!" (A few of our many pics...but a good taste of nashville!)

Chadwick checking out the wall of mullets. (Yep, that's a grill in the bar)

Thanks for the GREAT weekend away! Can't wait for the next one...

Olympic Correction, Y'all!!!

Oops..I made a mistake. I knew we were on a different day than China, but I made a mistake on which way it worked. So the women's soccer which played on Friday night in China was aired here Friday morning. I'm actually watching the game right now (7am) because of a rain delay...they are beating Canada 1-0 21 minutes into the game. (Canada tied it since I've been typing so 1-1 now). So for the marathon which are run sunday morning in China will aire here Saturday night 7:30 pm. Sorry if you missed the game because of my mistake, but hopefully the women will win and play Brazil (who beat Norway). I'll update you on the schedule.

Well cowboys and cowgirls, we are leaving today for Nashville so check Monday for pictures! We are really gonna miss the princess, but we know she's in good hand with Nana and Papa and it's only 48 hours! And obviously she is going to get some great souvenirs! Nashville is my favorite city in the world. Here are some pictures from previous Nashville trips...I'm on the lookout for famous people this trip! We are going with B and Mo this time..who knows what kind of trouble we will get in! See ya Monday!

The running crew after the Nashville 1/2 marathon in April.
We had a t-shirt contest that Leanne won!
What a cowboy!

The amazing group of girls that took me to Nashville for the BEST bachelorette party ever! We had such a GREAT weekend!

I can't figure out how to turn it, but I had to show what my friends did for me for my Bachelorette party. Who doesn't want a cowboy hat with a veil??? That's my type of party!
You best believe I joined a band for the night. They let me sing with them and even traded hats with me! I heart The Stage!
And last but not least...a typical sign in nashville, y'all!

Olympic Update

(Thank you Sabrina for your excitement!! :) )

I'm going to update the Olympics as of Wednesday morning, so if you taped the Men's soccer game and you don't want to know the results yet...stop reading here!

1st-the Women's team is doing GREAT! They have moved onto the semi-finals. They were 1st in their bracket so they are playing Canada on Friday, August 15th at 6pm (I think the game will be aired during the 1-8am time slot on Saturday morning on USA but I'll let you know if it's not). Luckily they got 1st because if they would have got 2nd, they would be playing Brazil. So things are looking great!

2nd-as always, girls are better than boys! The men have been eliminated with a loss this morning to Nigeria. Their left mid got a red card 3 minutes into the game so they played short the whole game...and Norway beat Japan which didn't help them...so they have been eliminated. they looked sloppy anyways!

3rd-how exciting is this Michael Phelps??? It's so fun watching him swim...but exhausting because the races are so late in the night! He has 5 gold metals already(US has 10 total)...3 to go! But he's said he's getting tired and not feeling great-let's hope he can keep it up.

4th-gymnastics has been a lot of fun to watch too. The men got bronze which was a big surprise..the women got silver which was expected. They were beat by the Chinese..again! But both teams had lots of injuries so they did great.

5th-track and field begins friday. and for the muskovich family, here are the marathons: the women's marathon is sunday august 17th morning, so it should air here at 7:30pm sunday night i think the men's marathon is sunday august 25, same time for tv time. And RYAN, I know you asked...the men's 50km walk is Friday August 22nd. That's 30 miles of walking...now that's exciting!!!!

Medal Count:

United States 10 gold 8 silver 11 bronze 29 total

China 17 gold 5 silver 5 bronze 27 total

South Korea 6 gold 6 silver 1 bronze 13 total

Oh, and Abigail is doing great too! We got a new camera last night so I'm working on getting the pictures downloaded today. Very exciting!!! Pics to come soon!
